Located in on a wooded site just outside of the American Airlines Hub at DFW airport, the American Airlines project creates a true sense of place through architectural references to aviation and flight. From the exterior, the facades of buildings 1 through 4 angle and slope to create the appearance of movement. The mid-rise buildings are connected by a central amenity-filled concourse, with a round “Town Square” central building at the heart of the project.
The Town Square Building is a triple height space, open to a sunken cafeteria below. The faceted radial stretch fabric ceiling of Town Square mimics the turbine of a jet engine. The 80’ diameter space ties into the main concourse, which links the four buildings together. A winding monumental staircase furthers the sense of motion in Town Square. Each of the four office buildings also have an atrium with a monumental stair linking the 7 office floors to the concourse below.
An extensive landscape and five outdoor terraces provide ample space for employees to gather outside. A 550’ long pedestrian bridge spans the nearby creek linking buildings 1 through 4 with the remaining American Airlines campus.
The project is LEED Gold certified by the USGBC.
