Kendall/Heaton Associates

In the process of rebranding the tower and service building that became 600 | 601 Travis in Houston, Hines commissioned Kendall/Heaton Associates to design a tenant exercise facility and locker rooms on the concourse level adjacent to the downtown tunnel system. In the process, KHA enlivened the tunnel approach to the fitness center by designing a lighting scheme which creates a sense of daylight and increased safety for tenants active before and after their work day. Through the use of classic colors and simple, easy to maintain materials, the fitness center has been able to sustain the pressures of constant and enthusiastic use.
