Through a merger, two separate corporate cultures were blended to create the new Planet in Houston. The newly combined Executive Committee’s goal was to create a workplace that facilitated recruiting as well as retained the employee population of both of the original companies. Blocks of offices were created as small buildings aligned with the Houston city grid with an infill of workstation neighborhoods. A 10,000 SF mezzanine was added with an espresso bar, a gathering space and conference rooms connected by walkways inspired by the bayou’s bridges. To engage the landscape a large outdoor balcony was constructed overlooking Buffalo Bayou.
