description
Energy Tower, a mid-rise building constructed in 2001, is located in the vibrant Energy Corridor of Houston, Texas. In order to reposition the tower, KHA was tasked with bringing new life to the public areas: lobby, management office, elevators, restrooms, deli, conference center, and fitness center. Moving the management office from the sixth floor to a prominent area off the lobby and creating a common conference area resulted in a more engaged public ground floor. KHA designed the conference area to be a flexible space appropriate for both small meetings and large events. The lobby is lightened by selective removal of dark granite, which was replaced with clerestory glass and a new white stone floor, resulting in a reactivated environment.
