Representing a long term investment in downtown Richmond, this Tower is the first of a two-phase master plan for Dominion Energy. Tower 1, completed in 2019, houses 1,200 employees and several amenities, including Dining, Fitness, a one acre Roof Terrace, Meeting Center and Retail. The unique curving form of glass and aluminum, inspired by a sail, contrasts the surrounding structures in both style and detail. A tailored lattice of fins and diagonal rods gives the curved façades a special textural quality unlike any high-rise in Richmond.
Due to Dominion Energy’s vision, the project was designed throughout to very high energy efficient and green building standards. These aspects create a building that is not-only healthier for the environment but more comfortable and healthier for its occupants.
The project received LEED Gold certification by the USGBC.
